Surly Preamble - Flat Bar

The Surly Preamble Flat Bar is a down-to-earth, go-anywhere bike that feels right at home on Seattle’s streets and the Burke-Gilman Trail. Its comfortable upright position, sturdy steel frame, and wide tires make it an easy, confidence-building ride for exploring the city or cruising along the waterfront. Simple, smooth, and reliable—just grab it and go!

How renting at Free Range works

Pick up and return

From our shop located at 3501 Phinney Ave N in Seattle. We do not deliver.

This is the perfect jumping-off point for rolling straight onto the Burke-Gilman trail or wherever your ride leads.

Duration

We rent bicycles by the calendar day. A full day rental is yours from the time we open (10:30) to 5:30pm. Feel free to rent for as many days as you would like— we even offer subsequent day discounts.

We also have 4 hour rentals available - the perfect amount of time for a scenic ride and tasty lunch.

Misc Items

Burly Bee Child Trailer - Seats two children with a weight capacity of 100 lbs

SPD cleats - $10

  • Cancellations made with at least 48 hours’ notice will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are eligible for store credit only. No-call, no-show reservations are non-refundable.

  • Reservations aren’t required, but they’re a good idea. They don’t cost anything extra, and they make sure we’ve got the right bikes ready for you and your crew when you roll in.

  • We do not carry kid’s bikes. Our bikes start at an adult size XS, which requires a minimum height of 5ft. If your kid can comfortably fit on and safely maneuver the bike, great! We do have one Burley trailer to rent for 1-2 kids with a 100lbs weight capacity. Kid’s must be at least 3 years old to be in the trailer.

  • Our pricing already includes built-in discounts for longer rentals. We don’t offer additional discounts based on group size.

  • Yes— we are directly next to a parking lot with affordable rates and there is typically street parking in the neighborhood.

  • Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate pets, even with the Burley trailer.
